Totally busted at LAX while returning after Kill Allen Wrench European tour!
Supergroup forced to cancel performance.

Following the successful Kill Allen Wrench 2002 European Tour, Kill Allen Wrench lead guitarist and Mentors founding member / front man - Dr. Heathen Scum, was arrested after a search of his luggage by customs officials at Los Angeles International Airport. A search of the lead guitarists baggage, triggered by an alert customs officers exposed H. Scum's plot to smuggle a small amount of 'White Widow' Marijuana that had been purchased in the Red Light district of Amsterdam Holland.

Upon the discovery Mr. Scum attempted to claim that the marijuana was in his possession due to personal medical needs. LAX law enforcement officials did not buy his story. Further damaging his situation, LAX police officers also added multiple charges of attempted bribery and then assault on a police officer.

According to police reports Dr. Heathen Scum first attempted to bribe the customs inspector upon discovery of his illegal substances. But after he was informed that he would also now be charged with attempted bribery, Pope Scum became violent and attempted to strangle the female customs officer. After being detained, Scum was taken into custody.

While being escorted to a police transport vehicle, Dr. Heathen Scum, AKA The Pope of the church of El Dace instructed fellow rock personality The Prince of Punk Mark Hernandez (bass musician), to make a call to the Devil Vision attorney Saul LibowitZ to arrange for representation. Pope Scum's instructions fell upon deaf ears due to The Prince being under heavy influence of the prescription drug Vallium. From A jail cell Heathen Scum was able to contact Kill Allen Wrench drummer Junky John Wohlfeil, who was then able to reach Attorney Saul Libowitz, who had been on holiday in Singapore.

Due to the seriousness of the charges of smuggling, attempted bribery and felony assault, bail was denied for the lead guitar superstar. Saul Libowitz is cutting his vacation short to return to Los Angeles, CA, to begin work on Pope Scum's legal predicament.

The Kill Allen Wrench concert which had been slated for May 17th has been canceled pending Dr. Heathen Scum's legal issues.

Leeler: Tell us about the arrest... how were you treated by the pigs?

Dr. Heathen Scum: I showed the officer's my diplomatic passport. I stated that the diplomatic passport meant that they could not search my luggage or person. They ignored this but searched me anyway. They showed me a letter from John Ashcroft authorizing them to do this. Other than that, the officer's were polite and professional.

They allowed me to contact my attorney, Saul Libowitz. Saul is now also using Johnny Cochran as an advisor, and as a possible defense team member if this case goes to trial. You may remember him from the OJ Simpson case


Leeler: Why were you picked to have your luggage searched?

Dr. Heathen Scum: I have no idea on this one. That's a question to ask the Customs Bureau. I was sitting next to an Arab looking guy on the plane, maybe that had something to do with it. It could have been a mix up.

Leeler: Why were you not released on bond?

Dr. Heathen Scum: I am not a flight risk and again I have no idea why. I'm a simple religious figure and music performer. To single me out is ridiculous. My attorney are handling the case well, the problems are specifically coming from the judge.

Leeler: What did they find in your luggage?

Dr. Heathen Scum: that is a matter for the attorneys. As it turned out, I had no luggage with me. Apparently somebody had planted an entire suitcase and forged documents saying it was mine. But it was not. I travel with no suitcases, just a guitar and a couple of books in carry on.

In the suitcase they did find syringes, PCP and a large brick of hash. I'm not really into any of those drugs... except maybe the hash. The fucked thing was that Allen Wrench was on the same flight. And I know he had tons of stuff, and they didn't even look at him twice. Not only that he couldn't even walk straight be cause he was all fucked up on pills.

Leeler: Kid Rock has been your biggest supporter during your time behind bars. Why hasn’t a press release been issued?

Dr. Heathen Scum: Yes Kid Rock was there for me like I was there for him. Kid was told to keep it hush hush until we were ready with our legal case. And now we are.

Leeler: What is Saul Libowitz doing to get you out of jail?

Dr. Heathen Scum: Saul has been supportive. He has Cochran on a retainer and Cochrane has been very aggressive. I am confident with Saul footing the bill for Cochran, I will be cleared of this quickly. Devil Vision has excellent legal representation.

While the female judge gave no specific reason for Dr. Heathen Scum's bail denial, Libowitz was concerned with Scum's legal situation. "There is no reason to refuse my client's bail" stated Libowitz, "Dr. Heathen Scum is not only a doctor, he's also a diplomat and a religious icon."

Saul Libowitz theorized religious bias as well as unfair treatment due to Pope Scum's celebrity status.

DR. Heathen Scum NEWS UPDATE - RELEASED FROM JAIL!!!

After having been refused bail, Dr. Heathen Scum was unexpectedly released from custody late Friday night. Apparently the victim of a well planned conspiracy Scum, now free looks to fellow band members as possible perpetuators of frame up.

While constantly professing his innocence, federal investigator's findings confirm Scum's innocence. After verifying luggage records and signatures, luggage registered under Dr. Heathen Scum's name were not checked in by the rock personality. "The reason he was held without bail and for so long, was because the luggage that was registered under his name containing red phosphorous, which is used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine." Stated the lead investigating officer, "The fraudulent luggage also contained a large number of hypodermic syringes, pill form exstasy, brick hash and PCP. After obtaining the check in forms and surveillance video tapes, it was obvious that the man we had in custody was not the person that checked this luggage with the airline in Amsterdam."

Although the person showed on the airport video tape was not Dr. Scum, the individual was wearing a Kill Allen Wrench T-shirt. Upon his release from the Los Angeles County Jail, Dr. Heathen Scum stated that because of the person's familiarity with him personally and the type of drugs that were in the planted luggage, he would not be surprised that if the individual, that had checked the luggage using his name, was a member of his own band.
